History:

Vredestein was founded in 1946 but the company started manufacturing rubber products in 1908. Right at the end of World War II Dutch Vredestein and American BF Goodrich entered into a joint business. In 1970 BF Goodrich withdrew from the European market in 1977, the Dutch government bought 51% of Vredstein’s shares and solidified the company’s future. The Vredestein Investment Consortium (VICO) which are the group of investors became authorized to buy out the Government’s shares.
