Chevrolet or a brand more affectionately referred to as simply “Chevy,” is a division of the American automobile producer General Motors Company. Initially developed as a competitor to the infamous Model T, today’s Chevy brand vehicles are bought and sold with confidence all over the world. The brand solidified its position as a U.S. icon, however, with its iconic 1974 jingle, which sang: “Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet, they go together in the good old USA.”
In the U.S. market, Chevy produces a wide variety of vehicle types, from subcompact cars to medium-duty trucks. The brand has also become increasingly popular in Europe since GM relaunched the company in 2005. In response to the economic downturn of the early 2000s, Chevrolet survived by improving its existing offerings, as well as the development and launch of several new vehicles.
